Provide traceability, visibility and improve awareness of time loops

Every manufacturing process is reliant upon cycles, or loops, most of which must be completed under strict conditions and to precise timescales. Variation from these conditions or timescales can have a significant impact on the product - potentially triggering a rework requirement; upon the operator - over-exposure to hazardous conditions; knock-on effect on later manufacturing processes; and so on. It is therefore vital to keep track of your manufacturing "TimeLoops" in any complex manufacturing facility.

Working with a key semiconductor manufacturing customer, we developed a CoreTrakk-based solution to automatically manage TimeLoops, offering the following functionality:

  • Creating OCAP items when abnormal situations occur.
  • Visual Web interface to graphically show status of each time loop, allows users to easily see where a lot is within a given time-loop
  • See if a lot is on target to complete the time loop in the given time.
  • Help prevent lots from being started if the loop is at full capacity or if equipment is down with in the loop.
  • Notify users via email or paging systems if lots are running outside of target.
  • Automatic updates from tools, MES and from users.
  • Allow for configurable decay periods depending on storage locations.
  • Tool usage analysis.

The CoreTrakk platform was used to interface to tools and the MES to monitor - in real-time - tool status, lot progression, etc.  A web interface and CoreTegral notification manager were provided to show results and alert users.
